Is that price per gallon? Fuel here in Oz is around $1.45 per litre.... One gallon is equal to about 4 litres. So
working by the gallon, we're paying about $5.80... it's ridiculous!! -- luv Cec xxx Check out my stuff here:

3.19 average here... UGH. Good thing... a friend blessed me with an older nissan sentra 5speed stick! It SIPS
gas... sure its a beater but its cheap to run! Still needs a tune up but we are getting there! :) April has truly
been blessed to be able to give so much. I have given so much stuff away recently too... I'm mentoring a bunch of the
20 somethings from church and have had a few girls over and its hilarious to watch them do their first cards... I was
going to do a lunch box thing with them and put cards in them but just don't have time! I remember at one point I gave
away about 30 inches of paper and two xerox boxes of embellishements (some donated by april thank you!) at one crop at
my church... I remember Amy coming to my one crop, it was only her, me, casey, and my pastors wife... I had so much
loot then and there was that huge box they went through.. LOL Plus I'm going through my stuff and my mom is getting
stuff since I got her into this addiction! LOL "Cowchipper" <cow@the-big-red-barn.moo> wrote in

I wasn't complaining. I've bought gas in the UK. I ride the bus when I can. I've walked to the store and back.
Besides we buy a lot more oil than anyone else does per capita... when you buy in bulk, you get a cheaper price. Not
to mention US companies were the people who put the money into the development of automobiles, and internal combustion
engines to begin with... so if you really want to argue if we should have to pay more... No I don't think we should.

-out of lurking mode for a moment- If you are going to compare country to country gas prices the missing element that
no one here is mentioning is taxes. Each country imposes their own set of taxes on gasoline. Taxes comprise a large
percentage of the price of gasoline in many countries. I only came to this realization recently when I saw a chart
showing price per gallon in various countries with and without taxes. I was stunned. I can't find the particular
chart I saw, but a quick internet search gave me the following that illustrates this: From a chart from the
International Energy Agency taken off this webpage: http://www.urban.org/publications/1000845.html Price per gallon in
US dollars without taxes in the 2nd Quarter 2005: US $1.55 UK $1.51 Australia $1.57 Price per gallon in US dollars with
taxes in the 2nd Quarter 2005: US $2.01 UK $5.73 Australia $2.96 Anyway, I am an American who just recently moved to
London, and I don't own a car. So enough gas talk for me! I will post a separate post to ask the question that
brought me to this group to begin with.... -stars "RJ" <duckwater@*SPAM*gmail.com> wrote in message

I ride the bus when I can. I've walked to the store and back. Besides we buy a lot more oil than anyone else does per

into the development of automobiles, and internal combustion engines to begin with... so if you really want to argue if
we should have to pay more... No I don't think we should. "Scout Lady" <scoutlady@nospam.net> wrote in
