My inlaws have a schrank they bought when in Germany and I LOVE it. Think I have convinced them to will it to me! LOL
SIL has no desire to have it as it's "old" and not classy! I was stunned, it's a beautiful piece furniture

this month! Small but did :D Of course i took no pics of it before I sent it to its new home. (it's a two sided 8.5x11
page for Matthew's school room) BUT, I've been touching my supplies and getting inspired to do more. I've made some
cards. I actually have a list a mile long of names to send birthday cards to for the month of October who are downrange.
I need to get hopping since the month ends in a week :X BUT, I also have plans to scrapbook this week. As much as I hate
doing it by myself, I will if I must (and thus I do since no one is into it in my little circle of acquaintances here).
I need to make room for our move next year LOL We're going to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over our weight limit moving back to
the states. Oh which is likely to be back to Minot ND. Oh help me! (we volunteered to do this) Anyone in the lovely
Prairie Rose state? (they had lots of those painted on things for sale when we were first there from 93-96) The
prospects of crafting supplies doesn't sound too good from first reports. If only I was young again and didn't have so
many hobbies LOL Oh I'm Susan... a long ago one time regular here. I'm trying desperately to get back again. I read
most every digest that comes in and think "I need to get in there" but always find something else yelling at
me. I'm married to DH for 15+ years now. 2 boys, CG 13 going on adulthood and Matthew 4 soon to be 5. We currently call
a small village 25 minutes from Heidelberg Germany home. Oh is it ever lovely over here. (well actually a drive out past
the vineyards yesterday was kind of frightening but during the summer... GREEEEEEEEEEEEN every whee) I scrap, cross
stitch, knit, crochet, read (haven't read so much in the previous 15 years as I have since moving to Germany -
something to do with limited US programming LOL), and sometimes write. Ohio is home and where we likely will retire. (I
spent last weekend in London and decided I'm really just a country girl) So, I'm off to fondle my scrapping supplies
and print some pics. I've got our London trip to scrapbook. I got to have my pic with Nick cage and Pope John Paul II
... in wax of course. :D It was a great trip, if just a LITTLE expensive LOL Have a great Tuesday! Matthew and I are
off to lunch with one of the ladies at DHs office. She got home a month ago and we made plans to do this today so
Matthew could join us. They're about the same.... GIGGLING :D Susan Malsch, Germany [/quote:c21fba46de]

head silhouette paper were part of a pack I got at Walmart on clearance for $4, and the cat and letter stickers I got at

Anyhow. I just set a swath of genuine (?) Swarovski (?) crystals across a tee shirt for DD with it. It's wonderful,
easy, fun and truly blingy. Since, in today's notion of style, too much is never enough, I've just finished a dress for

don't know if the 2 year-old is delighted with pockets but thought they might be - so, I added a pocket and put a Mickey

Well, thank you. There's a crazy quilt in my future. I always pilfer through the remnants bin at any fabric store

making mini albums for my sis and SIL for Christmas. Using the same paper, cardstock, etc for each, same titles for
pages on both. Just changing some of the journaling. Once I get one done, the other shoudl go quickly. The albums will
go in AOL boxes. Already have the 2 AOL boxes covered, still workign on embellishing them. Gotta figure out closeures.
After you put paper on them, the magnetic thing just doesn't work. LOL I'm hoping today to pick up a mini album kit I
saw at Wal Mart several weeks ago. It's this really cute boyish album, about 4" x 4" I guess. Has the mini
album with all the embellishments, etc. I'm going to do it up for my Mom to put in pics of my nephew. (Christmas
present.) He lives in the same town as them, so spends quite a bit of time at "Nana & Papa's". Needless
to say, Mom has quite a few pics of him! LOL Then there's the idea I had the other morning for Christmas gifts. We're
going to take alllllllllll of the digital pics we have, sort them by year, rename pics as needed (maybe), then burn them
to CD's. I'm not sure who will get them, but certainly our parents. I imagine we'll do them for my siblings, too.
Once my Dad gets them, he may not share! LOL (Just a little attached to his grandkids.) So I need to get started on
sorting them. Scary thought since we have digital pics going back to 2001. Of course, I still have my former kitty
Bagheera's album to finish, and DD's first album. (Both spiral bound.) We won't discuss where I am in the rest of DD
and DS's pics. LOL Plus tryign to start planning DH's BotCon album. That's going to the toughy! Plus needing to start
our album for our Mexico trip we took this summer. Plus another mini book kit I started at my Sept. stamp camp. (Yes,

Tuesday DH and I went up to the hospital to see a guy from work who'd had surgery on Monday (had his colon resected as
he had polps(I know I butched the spelling on that!) and they were growing sideways; not up and down where they can
use the little pinchers to pinch them off.). Jerry looked great, was feeling good (told me how much he loved his
epidural, now I know why you ladies get these when you have babies! LOL) he was anxious to go home. Jerry is Alan's
driver so we know him pretty well. Jerry was also very good to me when I hired on and taught me alot as far as the
driving aspect of the job. Wednesday night while at work our battalian chief sent out an email letting us know that
Jerry had been taken to the ICU. (his wife noticed he wasn't look good, the LPN said oh he looks just fine. His wife
went and got the RN who said, you're right let's check his O2 sat. rate, it was 68%! he went right into ICU as he was
on oxygen) Thursday DH called in sick, he was feeling very unwell. We got a call around 10 am from one of the guys
that went to check on Jerry, He had just coded. We flew out of the house and just as we were pulling into the parking
lot of the hospital we got another call that they had just pronounced Jerry dead!! I am just so sick over this. Jerry
was 62 and in good health, though he'd had a heart attack 5 years ago. Alan is just torn up. The family set up a
special visitation this morning just for the firemen as his wife knew how much we needed that. Jerry was cremated this
afternoon and his funeral will be held tomorrow. His wife asked that Alan play his bagpipes as she knows how much
Jerry loved to listen to Alan playing them at the station. I have to work tomorrow so don't know if we'll be able to
attend or not, that is still up in the air. I just feel so sad.... -- Kenda (Remove NOSPAM to reply) View my

1. Yes, I plan on making my cards again this year. Nope not done yet, still don't have any ideas, maybe 'cause I've
been making so many other cards..... 2. Who could that be??? : ) 3. Have the list of people to make for. Don't
have that many as I don't send handmade ones to the people that don't care. 4. I am hoping when I go to SU! Next

early? LOL I know of a gal who, a year ago, already had her Christmas cards done. Not this year, so I don't feel bad.
:-) 3. I haven't made the list yet. I figure I'm looking at about 100. Gotta get a list made and have DH look at it.
I usually either forget someone on the list, or put someone on the list that DH really doesn't want to send a card to or
they won't care if they get one or not. I usually tend to forget people. It's a yearly thing...I make the list, then
DH revises it. LOL 4. I'm not sure if they'll all be the same or make up 2 - 4 different designs. Last year, I
pretty much made them all different. I've planned them one year to do them all the same. All the same was waaaaayyyyyy

The kids would then know to which states they had traveled. Neat idea. I'm doing a travel album for dad (he's 85, but

across Canada this summer after I started the album. On the cover I will use the map with all the states & provinces
highlighted that he's visited. For each individual trip inside, I highlight the state or states covered during that
particular trip. Only have one trip done so far. You can see the cover for it here:

Anji, I would think the bruised ear would be a real concern as an ear is very hard to bruise. You have to watch for a
number of things. When DS#1 fell from the monkey bars, many years ago, and hit his head on the steel step he also lost
consciousness. I was called at work. On the way to get him I called our family Dr. who said to come in and they'd
xray. He couldn't see a fracture however he told me to watch him closely for the following signs, slurred speech,
difficulty in waking up ( I was to rouse him every 30-45 minutes if he went to sleep this was to continue through the
night). I was to gently shake him and if he didn't come around then I as to take him to the ER. I was also to watch
him for changes in his behavior. Nausea/vomiting. I stopped by the store to pick up children's motrin and on the way
out with him he said, "mommy I don't feel good". I had a terrible time understanding him. I immediately
took him to the Children's hospital, called our DR. on the way and we were taken right back. Head injures are
serious. We spent the night at the hospital, they did several CT's and he did have a skull fracture and a concussion.
The xray's didn't show the fracture as it was in an odd place, that's why they did several CT's. You are really at the
mercy of the hospital staff. If you complain that you feel they are taking too long or not doing the right thing they
can/and will drag their feet and take even longer just to piss you off. I hope your DS is feeling better. -- Kenda

Thanks Kenda! We still have a long ways to go - it can take several weeks to recover. The good news is she does not
have cancer, and that this is a curable disease, so it's a bit like having an infant, with 2 am feedings and bodily
fluids involved. :) Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers!!!!!!!!!! Jessica Kenda wrote:

I wish my fabric were that organized. When it comes to fabric organization... I'm at a loss. A good number of my
mini-tubs are "finished" quilts... the leftovers. I've kept them that way because I know what fabric I used
in what quilt (kind of -- for the most part) and so I know where to look for it. I don't have a lot of large
yardages.. mostly FQs and remnants. Hopefully when DH gets my shelves finished... I'll be able to tackle that. I
still have more big totes than I have room for in the room. So I either need to break them down... or move them into
the guest room or the basement (2 flights down). Kate in MI http://community.webshots.com/user/K_Groves --

end of last month that the Major was going to call me as he needed my help. He called and asked me to put on patches
the uniform jackets....then he asked if I could put patches on the new BDU's the seniors were going to be issued. Okay,
I can do that.....I sewed 300 patches on by HAND onto the uniform jackets!!!! I was appalled at the condition the few
that the Major PAID someone to do. He then asked if I could hem the uniform pants! 2 pairs per student, @ 150
students, that's 300 pair! LOL I took my trusty little sewing machine up to the school on the days I wasn't working
and worked out of the instructor's office getting one student at a time to try on pants and hemming them on the spot,
also checking and doing any obvious fitting that needed to be done. (I really detest blind hem stitching!) I got it
all done and can finally breath!!!! I also had to alter a uniform that was specially made for a student (she is very
heavy) and the workmanship was awful! Thankfully she hadn't worn it yet and we worked on it two days getting it to fit
her properly.....and if I do say so myself I did a good job of fixing it! Saved the ROTC program several thousand
dollars (the Major added it up) He wanted to pay me but I told him to keep the money in the program and get some of the
equipment the kids need in order to go to competitions and then take them. Work has been really busy, the gang
activiity has gotten really bad again. (In the mid-90's HBO did a special called, "Bangin' in the Rock", about
the gangs in Little Rock, well it wasn't just a Little Rock problem it was also a problem across the river in North
Little Rock. Many of the gang-bangers went to jail for 10-12 years and now they're getting out and re-establishing
their territories, hence our increased runs) We've had a number of shootings, stabbings and fire bombing houses, people
getting run over, multiple times. It's just unbelieveable! Last night a woman driving down the road, going home from
her sister's house was hit head on by another vehicle and the occupants, known gang members, bailed out of the vehicle,
stolen I might add, and fled the scene. Thankfully she had her seat belt on and wasn't injured too badly, her infant
daughter was just fine, in the carseat in the back! The cops hands are tied as our Mayor has cut 20 positions in the
department, our county jail is shut down 95% of the time as there isn't money to open all the beds in it. So, the
police have to issue a citation to appear, knowing full well they won't. But we have a submarine and now the Mayor is
paying out $395,000 to have a tug boat brought from CA. to add to our maritime inland museum. (never mind it will cost
nearly a million to get it ready to be "displayed") I've really had my eyes opened about the gangs and how
young the kids are when the join and the reasons they join, it's really sad, and rather discouraging. My DM is having a
knee replaced in a month, they'd do it sooner but she has to donate 2 pints of her own blood before the surgery. As
soon as she's back on her feet and recovered from this they will do the other knee. So the end of November and probably
most of December I will be helping her out, cleaning, cooking and doing whatever my Dad can't do (like cook! LOL) and
I'll be staying with her when he can't be there as he will eventually have to go back to work. I am anxious to get my
